Mai Skyles, MBA is the managing director of the American College Center for Economic Empowerment and Equality®.

Skyles spent over 25 years as a sales leader and external wholesaler at financial services powerhouses such as Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and Lincoln Financial. Prior to joining The American College of Financial Services, Skyles was a regional vice president for Nationwide Financial, where she provided and communicated solutions for complex issues involving annuities in retirement planning, income distribution, and inter-generational wealth transfer.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Eastern European and Russian Studies from the University of Virginia and a Masters of Business Administration from The Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School. Additionally, she holds Series 7, Series 63, Series 66, and multiple state insurance licenses.

Raised in a home of civil rights activists, Skyles understood early on the importance of equality and the ramifications of not having financial equity. Dedicated to volunteerism, she actively contributes as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and the Links Incorporated, serving on several committees. Additionally, she is an Advisory Committee Board Member for Underserved Minority Groups at Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School and a member of The Association of Wholesaler Diversity.

In her spare time, she is an avid golfer and enjoys skiing and traveling abroad with her husband and daughter.
